Roxy Jacenko’s husband Oliver Curtis was granted a one-day prison release to tend to gardens around council parks.
Curtis, who is currently serving a one-year jail sentence at Cooma Correctional Centre for insider trading began working as a maintenance man as reward for his good behaviour, according The Daily Telegraph.
Prison insiders told the publication Curtis was a “hard and meticulous worker”, prompting the decision to allow him to work outside the jail in an area known by inmates as “the farm”, where he can spend up to six hours a day outside in the garden.
While Curtis spends time in prison, Jacanko cares for their two children, Pixie, five, and Hunter, two.
Jacenko says that 2016 has shown her “that you can conquer anything” and despite her struggles, “they are very small in comparison to others. I’m lucky. I have an amazing support network, my mum is brilliant, my children are a joy to be around and my business is thriving. So I got cancer, and so my husband went to jail, but that’s life.”
