What is the Legally Blonde TV show about?
At this stage, we don't know too many details, but Reese Witherspoon has confirmed the show, aptly titled Elle, will be an origin story of Elle Woods as a 1990s high schooler.
According to Deadline, the new prequel series is in development at Amazon MGM Studios and is being written by Gossip Girl developers/executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
The Hello Sunshine Instagram account's announcement also revealed a few small details, explaining they were "bringing Legally Blonde back to your screens in a spinoff TV series inspired by the films."
Is Reese Witherspoon going to be in it?
Fingers crossed! Even though Reese is working on the project behind the scenes, we're not sure if she'll be appearing in the show - especially since it will be a prequel. However, that hasn't stopped fans from hoping the new project will include a visit from future Elle in the form of Reese Witherspoon.
Reese who will be an executive producer alongside Josh and Stephanie, did reprise her iconic role at the Amazon Upfront Presentation in May 2024, taking to the stage in her old costume.
