He seems to play the role of the mysterious struggling underdog hero with ease.
But if he were cast as a comedic character in a PG rated movie, I'd be looking at him the whole time waiting for him to turn around and say "I have a very particular set of skills."
So when Neeson was announced as part of the cast for Widows, I jumped at the chance to check the movie out before it hit theatres.
The film was incredible - I give it 4 out of 5 stars - but sadly, Neeson's character just didn't live up to expectations.
I won't give away too much, but he plays the role of an armed robber who leaves behind his grieving wife.
Maybe it was how his character ended, but I really just don't think the storyline did such a great actor justice.
I'd rather watch Neeson in Taken any day of the week. Wow, what a classic.
On the other hand, the storyline of Widows is absolutely brilliant. It's the best mix of action and drama paired perfectly with a clever storyline and just the right amount of twists and turns.
Others may disagree about Neeson, but I encourage you to watch the film and then judge for yourself.
Widows hits Australian theatres on Sunday November 18th.
