Orlando's insight into the notoriously private couple comes over one year after the 47-year-old last commented on his romance, previously admitting that his relationship with his long-time fiancee takes work.
“We’re in two very different pools,” he told Flaunt Magazine, continuing, "Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands. Sometimes things are really, really, really challenging."
“I won’t lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity, [but] I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there’s definitely never a dull moment.”
The couple, who share a four-year-old daughter, first crossed paths in January 2016.
"We bonded over an In-N-Out burger about three years [ago] at the Golden Globes. He stole one off of my table," Katy told Jimmy Kimmel in 2019.
"He took it, and I was like, 'Wait! Who — oh, you're so hot. Fine, take it!' And then I saw him at a party, and I was like, 'How are those onions resting on your molars?' He's like, 'I like you.'"
The pair went public with their relationship in May of that year, before they split in February 2017.
"Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time," read a statement to Entertainment Tonight.
But the story wasn’t over yet for the two lovebirds, who reconciled in 2018, with Orlando proposing to the singer on Valentine's day 2019.
The pair welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove in August 2020.
Despite rumours circulating that the pair had tied the knot, they have repeatedly shut down speculation. During an interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show in February 2022, Perry blamed the COVID-19 pandemic on the wedding delay.
“Every couple of months it’s like new variant! New variant! New variant!” she said, explaining, “It’s a destination location. We’re still trying for it to work out.”
