The 'source' of the photo was hotly debated all season long, with the couple deflecting the blame onto other contestants and even construction crew.
In their final interview on the show tonight, Tanya and Vito were told it was their last opportunity to talk about the incident on-camera. Tanya once again said she did not take the photo.
She showed producers a text conversation with someone she claimed to be the mystery tradie – saying it was screenshot on the 4th of May. Later correcting to say she meant the 4th of Feb.
Shortly after, Luke and Josh revealed their version of what happened - with the boys saying the incident occurred during filming for the show's promo.
"We had the production office being used as a toilet and I went in there," Josh admitted, saying he looked at the board but did not take a picture.
He says that about 45 minutes later, Tanya approached him to say she had seen the production schedule in the office and wanted to take a picture. She went to take a photo while Josh stood guard, and she later sent it to Luke.
Josh and Luke said they wanted to own up to their part, but had been worried about speaking out earlier since Tanya and Vito were their neighbours.
The twins said they were worried about whether or not their neighbours would have worked with them on their driveway, pool and other issues amicably if they had revealed the truth.
"I took the photograph," Tanya admitted later in the episode, once the truth had been shared by the twins. She said she felt blindsided by the boy's reveal and wishes she had spoken up sooner.
As the teams arrived at The Block HQ to find out their reserves, it appeared the tension had taken its toll. Tanya, Vito, Josh and Luke were all visibly upset by the events and were comforted by other contestants.
The big reveal had fans freaking out on Twitter.
