Shortly after the statement was released, Abbie took to Instagram to share with fans a few more details behind her decision to leave radio.
"SO I QUIT RADIO! Lol decided a little last minute after my break," she wrote alongside a video.
"I’m really happy with my decision and super proud of myself for letting this role go. I simply need to put my energy into projects that bring me joy and that energise me, rather than draining me. I’m looking forward to socialising with my friends and family as well!! Always a bonus.
"It’s also time to give someone else a go who would enjoy and appreciate the opportunity more than myself. I have so much on, and daily radio takes up so much time. I simply wasn’t enjoying myself day to day in that environment.
"This was my decision entirely, and I’m so glad I made it. My podcast @itsalotpod remains with the network, I’ll still be hosting @fridayz_live. More time for the pod will be so good for me and for the listeners !!"
Abbie also revealed that she was planning to continue her 'Australian Made' segment which focuses on Australian Music in a different format.
"I’m super happy and I can’t wait to focus on the myriad of other projects I have coming up!!!!!!!"
