Following a series of allegations that the just-finished Married at First Sight was a manipulative con, Ten’s new dating show is already copping some serious shade from Alex. Speaking to 90.9 Sea FM’s Heather, Dan & Ben show, Alex was holding nothing back.

‘They actually told me that Richie declined three times,’ Alex said, when asked if she knew her former love was likely to appear.

Speaking of the moment she is shown reacting with surprise about the presence of her ex, Alex was asked if it was all a big ‘stich up’.

‘I said I didn’t want to see him again on those terms and in that kind of environment, and they said he’s declined, we don’t think he’s interested.

‘But, apparently, 48 hours before flying out to Fiji he [changed his mind].’

Asked if she felt she had been lied to by producers, Alex indicated she believed that they may have deceived her.

‘It is disappointing and I can only trust that it was a 48-hour turnaround. But I suppose at the end of the day they’re trying to make a TV show.

‘And I thought if they knew they could lock me in, if they could lock him in as well that was gold for them.’

The show, which begins tonight on Ten, has been heavily promoting the pair’s showdown.
