Cashion did not make it past first obstacle, where contestants hopped from platform to platform across water, however his foot slipped in.

While he eventually made it across the obstacle, the deaf contestant didn’t hear the siren that signalled the end of his turn, moving on to the next challenge. Sadly, the contestant only realised his dream had come to an end after his son, Josh, caught his attention and interpreted for him.

Twitter was immediately filled with complaints:

Prior to his participation in the challenge, Cashion said: “I want all deaf people and all people with impairments to see me tonight and think that they can be on the show too.”
