Last October, 24-year old superfan Kristie Bennett beat aerial photographer Lee Carseldine to win Australian Survivor. Host Jonathan LaPaglia told WHO, “That’s what I love about this game. There’s not one type of game that will assure you of getting to the end. That’s what makes the game so fun to watch. You never know who’s going to win.”

So who will be up to the challenge to outwit, outplay and outlast 23 others for 55 days when the series returns for its second season? According to Channel 10, more than 20,000 Australians applied for the chance at making coconuts part of their daily diet. “The 24 people we have selected are incredible and represent one of the best casts we have ever assembled for a reality series,” says Stephen Tate, the network’s head of entertainment and factual programming.
Ten has revealed officially eight of the 24 contestants so far. Two of them, pictured in action below, are Mark Wales, 37, a former special operations commander from Perth, and Locky Gilbert, 27, an adventure guide originally from Perth.

Also competiting are Aimee Stanton, 23, a plumber from Melbourne; Jarrad Seng, 29, a photographer and filmmaker from Perth; Joan Cabellero, 29, an escape room manager from Sydney; Mark Herlaar, 51, a lime farmer from Toowoomba; Peter Conte, 22, a digital advertising producer from Sydney; and Sarah Tilleke, 22, a model from Perth.
Reality TV aficianados may recognise Sarah (seen on her Instagram feed below) from the 2014 edition of Foxtel series The Face but she insists she is a true fan of Survivor. “I’m prepared for the scrutiny, everyone just saying she just wants to be famous,” she told The Daily Telegraph, “but it’s not the case.”
The Daily Telegraph also reported that the following five people will join the cast: professional poker player Adam Parkin; Adelaide amateur footballer Henry Nicholson; Byron Bay marriage celebrant Jacqui Patterson; Olympic water polo bronze medallist Nicola ‘Ziggy’ Zagame; and marathon runner Samantha Gash.
That leaves 11 others to be revealed as part of the mix on Samoa.
