A new era of Australia’s greatest talent show is upon us, with the official return of Australia’s Got Talent finally confirming its panel of judges for 2022.
The most recent season aired in 2019 – a simpler, pre-COVID time – but it’s back in full force and coming to Channel Seven, with a release date to be announced shortly.
Over the years, the show has launched the careers of some of our favourite stars – kicking off with singer Bonnie Anderson all the way back in 2007.
We also saw the likes of Jack Vidgen and Justice Crew win the show at young ages, going on to have flourishing careers in the entertainment industry.
And now, we can’t wait to meet the talent on offer for 2022.
And as for the judging panel, we have some international stars joining to share their expertise.
Aussie actor Shane Jacobson will be returning after serving on the panel in 2019 as well, and Ricki-Lee Coulter will be returning in a hosting role.
Kate Ritchie will also be joining, using her years in the industry to guide the contestants.
Shane and Kate will be joined by British stars David Walliams, who has served on many talent-show judging panels in his time, and Alesha Dixon, a multi-platinum selling recording artist and former star of Britain’s Got Talent.
The short teaser we’ve been given shows us a lot of pyrotechnics, as well as gymnastics, magic tricks, dance crews, fire twirling, and one woman who shoots a flaming arrow from a bow using her toes.
After a slew of auditions, competitors will hope to secure a place in the grand finale, with the final winner rewarded with $100,000 in prize money.
The most recent winner, Kirsty Sellars, took to the stage with her insane talent as a pole dancer. She now runs the Pole Evolution Dance Company.
And the year before saw the continuation of Fletcher Pilon’s career, who got his start on The Voice Kids.
He won Australia’s Got Talent at just 15 years old, singing his audition song ‘Infinite Child’ in the grand finale, to huge praise from international guest judge Jack Black.
Australia’s Got Talent will air on Channel Seven soon!
