Ahead of her appearance on Bachelor in Paradise, a “mortified” Keira Maguire— who once admitted she’s spent over $35, 000 on plastic surgery— says she was moments away from pulling out of the series after a dodgy lip filler job ruined her plump pout.
Before flying to Fiji in 2017, the reality TV star went to a cosmetic clinic to get her lips injected, however, the nurse filled her lips with eight times more product than she asked for.
“I specifically said to this person I only want a quarter of a ml (millilitre), I don’t want my lips to look fake, I’m going on TV,” Keira told news.com.au.
“So she filled it in and then I’m like, ‘But now this side’s bigger’ and ‘Now because you’ve put it in the top you’ve got to put it in the bottom as well’ because my top lip is way bigger than the bottom. It was eight times more than what I would normally get, which is absolutely ridiculous. I was going on TV in two weeks and I’m like, ‘Oh my god my lips are so big!’”

Horrified by the size of them, Keira— who rose to fame on Richie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor— faced a wave of backlash when she appeared on our screens, with many slamming the controversial star for altering her facial features so drastically.
“That’s something that I can never forget because even yesterday there was an article online with my face and my lips … I’ll never be able to live it down,” she said.
Her honest comments about botox and injectables come days after Keira opened up about her messy split from her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Jarrod Woodgate.
Speaking to New Idea, the reality TV star revealed that Jarrod— who she met and fell in love with on BIP— dumped and then ghosted her after they had a seemingly insignificant fight during a boozy night out.
According to the controversial star, Jarrod cared more about spending time with his friends than trying to make it work with her.
“He promised me the world, marriage and children and told me he was ready to settle down, but the reality is that wasn’t what he wanted at all, he was more interested in going to the pub with his mates,” she said.
“We broke up on a drunken night out over something silly and that was it,” Keira said. “He went back to the pub and I never heard from him again. Nothing at all and that was really hard for me. I wanted it to work. I’m a sucker for a fairytale ending which is why I went on The Bachelor in the first place.
“Having someone ghost you is probably the hardest break-up to go through. There is no last conversation which means I had no closure. Which I really struggled with,” she continued.
Desperate to put the past behind her she fled to Bali for a girls’ weekend. However, after touching down in Melbourne, Keira said her world came crashing down when she was confronted with sordid details of Jarrod’s new love interest after photos emerged showing the reality star kissing a mystery blonde while vacationing in Bali.
“Jarrod was photographed with a girl on holiday and it turns out she had a boyfriend, who decided to reach out to me about their affair,” Keira said. “He sent me all the details of what went down in the bedroom. What they did and how long it lasted. It was too much information. The whole situation has been so hurtful.”
At the time, fellow holiday goers dished on Jarrod’s new love interest, revealing the pair definitely had chemistry.
“He was sitting alone and we overheard him tell the towel guy to set up another sunbed as a girl was arriving in an hour,” a witness exclusively told New Idea.”Then this young girl arrived in a white shirt and bikini and basically didn’t leave our hotel for 48 hours wearing the same clothing – even to breakfast!”
Last year, Jarrod opened up to WHO in an exclusive interview about his brief split from Keira, admitting that it was her obsession with social media that spelled the end.
“Being in the public eye, we made it look like we had a perfect relationship and that’s what people see on Instagram. I found myself turning into something I wasn’t [and] I couldn’t fake it anymore,” the Toms Cap Vineyard owner said. “Her Instagram following is overwhelming and it was taking over our relationship. She’s purely Instagram-focused, and that takes up a lot of time.”
Months after the tell-all interview, the reality stars confirmed with WHO that they were back together.
“We kept what we were doing on the down-low. We wanted to make sure before going public. There’s a lot of extra pressure being in the spotlight and that was something we struggled with,” Keira told WHO exclusively. “We’re being more private – so when you saw the Instagram photos that weren’t when we got back together that was just when we were willing to share it.”
