Bella Hadid and her on-again-off-again boyfriend Abel— aka The Weeknd— have once again called it quits.
According to E! Online, distance took a toll on their relationship and played a huge part in the supermodel and the Grammy-winning singer’s decision to part ways.
“They are in different places right now, physically and mentally,” a source close to the former couple told the outlet. “Bella is prepping for her fashion week commitments and Abel is working on his music and his upcoming acting debut.”
The insider also claimed the pair had been “arguing a lot recently” and “haven’t spent good quality time together in months”.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel, 22, and the pop star, 29,— who met at Coachella in 2015— first started dating in 2016. After a year-and-a-half together, they split. The Weeknd went on to date pop sensation Selena Gomez, however, split ten months after going public with their relationship. The Weeknd reconnected with Bella in 2017 and fully rekindled their relationship in July 2018.
Per usual, the model and artist seem to be taking a break for the time being, and as a result, the insider claims hope isn’t lost for them.
“They hope to get back together at one point but for now are focusing on themselves and their projects.”
The duo are yet to confirm the news.
