Vanessa Hudgens was photographed leaving hospital in a wheelchair by paparazzi after giving birth to her first baby with Pittsburgh Pirates baseball player Cole Tucker.
A day after the photos were published by various media outlets (WHO chose not to publish the images) the star has spoken out about her disappointment.
“We’re disappointed that our family’s privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long lens camera feeding the media,” the High School Musical star shared to Instagram.
“Despite all of that, mum dad and baby are happy and healthy.”
The star did not immediately share the name or sex of her child.
Hudgens had only debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the Oscars in March 2024, sharing images to Instagram with the caption “Oscar’s 2024! One for the books”.

Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker met during the Covid pandemic on a meditation call hosted by Jay Shetty.
“I was literally on the Zoom with my girlfriend, and I started hitting her asking who he was, and she had never seen him before,” the star told Vogue in December 2023.
“So I proceeded to look on the Zoom square to find out his name and found him on Instagram — and he sent a DM the next day.”
In another interview with Today with Hoda and Jenna in April 2023, Hudgens revealed how she had called her sister after she and Tucker spent their first weekend together.
“I was like, ‘I think I just found my future husband,” Hudgens recalled. “The foresight!”
There is a seven year age gap between Tucker and Hudgens.
The couple married in early December 2023 in Tulum, Mexico, with the photos later shared by Vogue.
In an accompanying interview, Hudgens said she had wanted to get married somewhere “warm”, and due to Tucker’s baseball season, the window to do it in was “so small”.
“I felt like ‘Mexico it is!’,” she told the publication. “I also wanted somewhere very spiritual. So I went to the hotel and got a really long tour, where I myself was not doing well, I was so hot and felt like I was going to faint.
“At the end of this very long tour, I was like ‘Where would we have our ceremony?’ and they were like ‘Oh, that would be at our museum’ and they said, ‘It’s 45 minutes into the jungle.’ I was thinking, ‘Okay, that sounds aggressive, but I guess I’ll give it a try.’”
