It was supposed to be Paradise on Earth, but when Outer Banks returned to our screens, fans were more concerned with how Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline would reprise their roles as the on-again-off-again couple John B and Sarah Cameron following their real-life separation in November 2021.
But fan’s fears quickly subsided and it was clear the professional exes put their differences aside to deliver another spectacular season, which led audiences to focus instead on who the actors were now dating.
Is Chase Stokes in a relationship?
Chase Stokes is currently in a relationship with country music singer Kelsea Ballerini.
The pair first stirred up dating rumours in January 2023 after they were spotted together at the College Football National Championship Game together in LA.
According to an Us Weekly source, “Chase and Kelsea have been flirting back and forth since meeting through friends at the College Football National Championship Game.”
At the time, Kelsea was also newly single after finalising her divorce from ex-husband Aussie country singer Morgan Evans in November 2022.
On January 13, Chase hinted further at their relationship, sharing an Instagram carousel picturing the two of them cuddling.
Kelsea further fuelled the rumours, posting a ‘soft launch’ video to TikTok.

After a long series of social media teasing, the pair made things red-carpet official at the 2023 CMT Awards, cuddling up to each other on the carpet.
Since then, the pair haven’t been ones to shy away from publically sharing details of their relationship, often appearing on each other’s social media and frequently walking red carpets together.
In September 2023, Chase shared a sweet tribute to Kelsea to celebrate her 30th birthday. “Dirty 30 looks pretty damn good on you Ballerini. I love you ❤️, he captioned a set of photos from the past year of their relationship.
After fans continued to compare Kelsea to his ex-partner Madelyn, he added another comment to the post; “It’s really upsetting that there is so many sad people saying unkind things here. I’m disappointed in a lot of y’all. Lead with love or leave. Thanks!”
Whilst fans may still be talking about Madelyn and Chase’s past relationship, it’s clear the exes are unbothered and have seriously moved on! Eagle-eyed fans caught the sweet moment on TikTok when Kelsea commented on Madelyn’s video about attending the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
“You looked a ridiculous level of stunning and I’m glad I finally got to hug your neck,” Kelsea commented.
“So happy I got to squeeze you, gorgeous gorgeous girl,” Madelyn replied.
Are Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline still together?
Starring as romantic partners in Outer Banks, not long after the show’s 2020 premiere, Madelyn Cline and Chase Stokes publicly confirmed they were also in an off-screen relationship.
Sharing a heavily publicised relationship, the pair dated for over a year, breaking things off in October 2021 according to E! News.
Reuniting to film Outer Banks Season Three, Stokes and Cline have spoken up about their working dynamic, with Chase telling Entertainment Tonight, “Mads and I have been working together now for 30 episodes, and we made a promise to each other before we even started dating that the work was always going to come first.”
