Now, you can all breathe a sigh of relief because not only is a reboot coming our way, but Eddie Murphy is also set to reprise his role as Akeem.

“After many years of anticipation, I’m thrilled that ‘Coming to America 2′ is officially moving forward,” Murphy said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to bringing all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen.”

Craig Brewer, who directed ‘Footloose’ and the hit series ‘Empire’, is set to take on the challenge with Paramount Pictures. ‘Black-ish’ creator Kenya Barris is also tipped to re-write a script by the previous writers of the original, Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield.
