The first promotional trailer for the latest season of our dating series just dropped in the United States— the show will be airing on U.S. channel Lifetime in May— and many viewers are already dragging the “trashy and plastic” brides along with their foul behaviour.

“The previews for this season look worse than Jersey Shore,” one person wrote on Facebook underneath the short clip which featured a few nasty screaming matches.

“It just looks like a lot of trash and drama. Not interested. Plastic and over the top. Dramatic.”

“The trailers for Australia look awful. Looks like one of those Real Housewives shows with everybody fighting. I’ll pass,” said another.

Others pointed out that the show looked “fake” and accused MAFS showrunners of staging feuds.

“No thanks. The American show has lost its sincerity and focus over the past couple of seasons. This looks worse. Too much scripted drama. Pass,” one person wrote.

Another added: “I watched the whole show mostly through Facebook clips and it was awful. All couples were mismatched, so much scripting, complaints after the show ended. But if you’re into trash TV drama, go for it.”

“Their version after the first couple season is all for show and drama, not real at all.”

The savage comments come just days after American fans made vile comments about Australia’s first lesbian couple to tie the knot on Married At First Sight.

The backwards viewers used a fan Facebook account to voice their objection to having a same-sex couple marry on the American franchise. Despite no announcement being made about the possible introduced of a same-sex union, they sounded off on Amanda Micallef and Tash Herz.

“Ewwwww! I guess they want bad ratings now! This show goes downhill each season,” one troll wrote.

Another said: “Well I just may have to add this to my  DO NOT WATCH list.”

And another vile fan snapped: “Okay. I’m done with MAFS. Yuck!”

While Amanda and Tash didn’t last the distance, Tash acknowledged the power in being represented on our country’s most polarising TV show.

On February 4, she wrote alongside an image of her and Amanda on their wedding day, “How powerful that Australia has finally recognised that love is not connected, nor related, to sexuality. A fight which I never understood why it was having to be fought to begin with, but I’m proud has firmly been won.

“I find the commitment of marriage, choosing to love your human every day, to be where the real magic lies; and to be able to experience that kind of commitment with a woman makes my fiercely romantic heart skip a beat. Thank you to every person whose progressive mind and open heart has paved the way for same-sex marriage, and a big congratulations to Australia!”
