This July, Jolie and her daughter Shiloh, 11, travelled to Namibia to open the Shiloh Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary, which cares for elephants and rhinos that have fallen victim to poaching or abuse, is located at the N/a’an ku sê Foundation in the African country. This was particularly special as Shiloh was born in the country.

And in February, Jolie and her entire family attended the world premiere of First They Killed My Father in Siem Reap.

Jolie’s sons Maddox – who was born in Cambodia – and Pax both undertook some parts in the film, which the director chose to strictly include only local actors.

While the screening was on, Maddox addressed the crowd of Hollywood stars and local dignitaries. “Thank you everyone for attending tonight. We finally made it. It’s a great honour to present this film to all of you, and to stand by my mother and my family,” he said at the time.
