Although we only just saw the end of season six last night, with Hayley Leake announced as the sole survivor, we have been given our very first look at what might be coming next.

Last night, the Survivor AU Twitter account shared a 30-second teaser for 2022, writing “Thank you to our ever faithful #SurvivorAU twitter family, it’s been a pleasure. See you in 2022…”

Although this is all we’ve seen so far, there have been some other facts floating around about what is yet to come for Australian Survivor.

Inside Survivor, the one-stop site for Survivor info across the entire global fanbase, has revealed that the 2022 theme will be Blood vs. Water, which has been borrowed from US seasons of the show.

The theme, which was seen in seasons 27 and 29 in the States, pits castaways against their loved ones – which will likely consist of friends and families.

This theme fits with the promo, in which we can hear Jonathan LaPaglia saying “Trust is the hardest thing to build, and the easiest thing to build.”

The gruelling nature of Survivor would be incredibly intense for anyone, not to mention someone pitted against their family member or close friend.

It’s also been rumoured that returning castaways will make up the pairs – so prepare to see a fair few familiar faces once February rolls around!

It also looks as though filming of the series will return to Far North Queensland, although maybe not Cloncurry this time around.

The Townsville Bulletin reported in August that two major camping areas had been booked out over a three-month period for a TV production project.

Flyers were also seen around Townsville in August, encouraging people who were ‘physically fit, enthusiastic, and available from September 11 to November 6’ to come forward for a TV project, meaning filming may already be underway.

With a number of castaways from season six having expressed interest in returning, we’re super excited to see who will appear, and which family or friends they might have talked into joining, when season seven airs.
