Although Brad was one of the top contenders to win the award, he was up against some tough competition— Al Pacino and Joe Pesci for The Irishman, Tom Hanks for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Anthony Hopkins for The Two Popes.

Taking to the stage at the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony to collect the outstanding accolade, the Hollywood heartthrob praised the director for his incredible work, calling him “original” and “one of a kind”.

“This really is about Quentin Tarantino, you are original, you are one of a kind. The film industry would be a much dryer place without you and I love those the ethos you gave cliff Booth— look for the best in people. Expect the worst, but look for the best,” said Brad who played the easygoing stunt double for fading actor Rick Dalton.

As we know, Brad starred alongside his best friend Leonardo DiCaprio in the top-notch flick, making a point of thanking the star for all his hard work and constant dedication to his craft.

“Leo, I will ride on your coat tails any day, man. The view is fantastic,” he said.

DYING!

Brad— who has already won a series of prizes for his role—also thanked his family and dedicated the award to his children!

While this is the first time the star has been honoured with an Oscar for his acting abilities, he took home a trophy in 2014 as a producer on best-picture honoree, 12 Years a Slave.

Here’s Brad’s acceptance speech in full:

“Wow. Thank you. This is incredible. Really incredible. Thank you to the Academy for this honour of honours. They told me I only have 45 seconds up here which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week.

“I am thinking maybe Quentin does a movie about it and in the end, the adults do the right thing. This really is about Quentin Tarantino, you are original, you are one of a kind. The film industry would be a much dryer place without you and I love those the ethos you gave cliff Booth.

“Look for the best in people. Expect the worst, but look for the best. Leo, I will ride on your coat tails any day, man. The view is fantastic. To the rest of the cast and crew, big bad Bob Richardson, Robert Garcia, Richie, my man Mike Mo, I also want to say while we are doing all of this I think it is time we give a little love to our stunt co- ordinary theatres and our stunt crews.

“Listen, I am a bit gobsmacked. I am not one to look back but this has made me do so and I think of my folks taking me to the drive in and seeing Butch and sun Scans and loading out the car and moving out here and Gina and Ridley to give me my myself shot. To all of the wonderful people I have met along the way to stand here right now. ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’, ain’t that the truth. This is for my kids who colour everything I do. I adore you. Thank you.
