After a social media hiatus, Brooke Blurton returned to Instagram last night to reveal she’s split from her long-term boyfriend, Nick Power.

Through tears, The Bachelor alum— who famously ditched Nick Cummins and walked out— thanked her followers for their ongoing support, admitting she needed some time to come to terms with the sudden change.
“If you haven’t noticed, I have been MIA on social media,” the shattered Bachelor In Paradise star said. “I’ve been grieving a breakup and I just haven’t been able to build up the courage to speak about it online and openly just yet.”
While she didn’t explain the reason behind their separation and only briefly touched on the news, the passionate mental health advocate and ambassador for R U OK? used the rest of the Instagram post to speak about youth suicide prevention.
“I know there are so many more important issues out there and there is one thing in particular, I do want to talk to you guys about, if you’re and OG follower, you’ll obviously know that I’m hugely passionate about Suicide Prevention.
“This post is simply an ask from you guys, my followers, the people who support me. If you could help someone today or another day, would you? Start a conversation. Spark a small reminder to check in with someone. Help me, help end youth suicide.”
After receiving an outpouring of love from both strangers and her reality TV co-stars, Brooke took to her Instagram story later that day to thank those who reached out.
“I’m trying to do this without crying. From the bottom of my absolutely broken and shattered heart, I just wanted to thank you guys for the messages,” Brooke said, as her eyes welled up with tears. “I think I’m going to log out of Instagram for today. I have some really exciting things coming, so I should probably look forward to those. I’ve tried to do this without crying but yeah, thanks guys. I’ll be back to my normal, positive self in time.”
Brooke rose to fame on the Honey Badger’s season of The Bachelor, however, the frontrunner famously quit the series.
“I had my date with Nick, I slept on it, and then the Rose Ceremony was the next day. I really do analyse things and in a way, you have to be selfish. I won’t go into too much, but I would say the decision to leave was definitely mine. I can’t say that they didn’t try persuade me to stay,” she told WHO exclusively last year as to why she walked out.
And while she went on to star in the show’s popular spinoff series, Brooke said she now urgers women to refrain from applying for the reality TV show.
“I really enjoyed my experiences. I can see the challenges and definitely the really unethical ways of treating people. And I would say if you’re not really set on who you are and what character you’ve been picked for, it’ll be a very uneasy ride for you. I spend most of my time talking girls out of it rather than into it.”
