Journalist Carrie Bickmore was named one of WHO’s most glamorous people last year. But the host of The Project, 35, revealed her style hasn’t always been so on-trend when she shared a photo of herself at her school formal on TV on June 9.
Last year Carrie told WHO her personal style is “simple, classic shapes that suit my body.” As for dressing up, “I like things to look sleep and modern.”
On The Project, Bickmore explained her mum had given her the decades-old pictures over the weekend.
“She brought my prom photos, my ball photos, and they are just quite shocking,” Bickmore laughed. “But they reminded me I remember going to this prom with this guy, and I so thought I was gonna score. I thought I was getting a pash by the end of that.”
As the photos flashed on the screen—including a montage of Carrie at her prom, glancing over her shoulder, and a more recent photo of her in the same pose, in a sleek black gown—her co-host Peter Helliar jokingly asked if she was the one on the right.
“I was so in love with James,” Carrie said, but added it was clear from the beginning of the night she wasn’t going to get lucky with James.
“Do you know when he rocked up he said to me—this is how much I was never gonna score—‘I think my grandma’s couch is made out of that material.’”
