Over 20 years since the dramatic world of Cady Heron and The Plastics first hit cinemas, creator Tina Fey has breathed a new life into the fan-favourite teen film in the upcoming movie-musical adaptation of Mean Girls.

Although some of us have been a bit sceptical of the Mean Girls reboot following the attempted sequel in 2011, the cast of the newest adaptation is packed full of some of Hollywood’s newest young stars, plus a few fan favourites returning to reprise their original roles.
Who is the cast of Mean Girls 2024?
Angourie Rice as Cady Heron
Best known for her performance as Betty in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy, Australian star Angourie Rice leads the ensemble cast as protagonist Cady Heron.
While fans may be most familiar with Lindsay Lohan’s portrayal of Cady, Angourie is hoping to bring a new perspective to the role, telling Entertainment Tonight, “No two people are going to do the same thing the same way. I think no matter what, it’s going to be different.”
Reneé Rapp as Regina George
Starring as the ultimate high school it-girl, Reneé Rapp is no stranger to the world of Mean Girls.
After being cast in May 2019, Reneé starred as Regina George on Broadway as part of the Mean Girls musical ensemble until the show’s closure in March 2020.
Reneé is also a successful musician and actor, starring most recently as Leighton Murray in The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Christopher Briney as Aaron Samuels
After capturing hearts as Conrad Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty, Chris Briney adds another fan-favourite heartthrob to his résumé as Regina and Cady’s love interest Aaron Samuels.
Although the new Mean Girls may be a musical, don’t expect Chris to be belting out any tunes!
“The level that the people in this movie are singing at isn’t something you can just pick up. They were born to do that and I wasn’t born to do that,” Chris told Entertainment Weekly.
Bebe Wood as Gretchen Wieners | Avantika as Karen Shetty
Regina George may be queen bee, but you’ll never find her too far from her loyal Plastics.
Love, Victor star Bebe Wood joins Mean Girls as heir to the toaster strudel fortune Gretchen Wieners. Joining Bebe is Spin star Avantika, who joins the cast as The Plastics’ very own weatherwoman Karen Shetty.
Jaquel Spivey as Damian Hubbard | Auli’i Cravalho as Janis ‘Imi’ike
Loved by fans as the dynamic duo behind Cady’s rise to popularity, Damian and Janis are arguably the most hilarious characters in the Mean Girls franchise.
Joining the cast in his first feature-film role, Jaquel Spivey takes on the role of Cady’s sidekick Damian. Starring as Damian’s partner-in-crime Janis is Moana star Auli’i Cravalho, who stars in her first on-screen role since Crush (2022).
Tina Fey as Ms Norbury
Nearly two decades after her performance in the original Mean Girls, Tina Fey is back to reprise her role as North Shore High School maths teacher Ms Norbury.
Tim Meadows as Principal Duvall
Returning to the world of Mean Girls as North Shore High School’s Principal Duvall is original cast member Tim Meadows.
