The full interview will air on Wednesday in the US, and the show has released a teaser via Twitter where Mathew, who is the father of Beyoncé and Solange, is seen speaking frankly about his diagnosis.
“How was it to tell your family about the diagnosis?” the GMA host asked in the sneak peek.
The teaser then flashes images of the Knowles family, ahead of the full interview.
Mathew formerly worked as both Beyoncé, 38, and Solange’s managers, and he was also the manager of Destiny’s Child.
While his relationship with Beyoncé is known to have become strained in recent years, the pair now seem to be on good terms.
Last month on September 4, Mathew wished Beyoncé a happy 38th birthday with a sweet tribute on Instagram.
“It’s your birthday! I hope you party like it’s your birthday, @beyoncé! Love, Dad,” he wrote alongside a video compilation of Beyoncé performing.
