Billy Ray Cyrus has reportedly filed for a temporary restraining order against his ex-wife, Australian singer Firerose, amidst their ongoing divorce proceedings.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Cyrus has requested a temporary restraining order to limit the 36-year-old, born Johanna Rosie Hodges, from accessing his business finances.

The publication alleges that court documents state Hodges made 37 unauthorised transactions, totalling approximately $97,000, to Cyrus’ business American Express card.

Responding to the allegations, Hodges’ attorneys stated, “Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage. Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off.”

The 62-year-old initially filed for divorce in May 2024 after seven months of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct. Cyrus has also sought to annul his marriage on the grounds of fraud.

Following Cyrus’ request for a temporary restraining order, court documents obtained by People reveal that Hodge has since filed a counter-complaint against Cyrus, alleging that she had suffered “extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse” throughout their marriage.

In a statement filed by Hodges’ attorneys, Hodge alleges that Cyrus’ “unpredictable and volatile” behaviour was exacerbated due to the 62-year-old’s “persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana.”

After being diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene mutation in 2020, Hodge was “highly recommended” to undergo a preventative double mastectomy, with her first surgery scheduled 24 hours after Cyrus filed for divorce.

Documents obtained by People allege that Cyrus had previously paid for Hodges’ health insurance and surgery expenses, stating, “Wife relied on Husband’s promise to pay for her surgery, and Husband has now repudiated that promise.”

“With Wife’s major surgery date looming, she was reasonably afraid to leave or seek any type of help because she feared that Husband would interfere with her surgery or her lengthy recovery at home,” her attorney statement continued.

Representatives for Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose have not yet responded publicly to the allegations.
