Brittany Hockley has finally ticked off one of the most exciting items on her wedding checklist: the dress!
In an Instagram post, Brittany shared that she has teamed up with renowned designer Steven Khalil to create the gown of her dreams. Her caption read, “Ahhhh I SAID YES TO THE DRESS!! 🤍💍 Well, yes to the creation of a dress anyhow!” She playfully added, “I’m not crying you’re crying.”
Although it’s still in the early stages, Brittany was moved even by the calico prototype. “When I put the pretend calico pattern on, I welled up,” she revealed. “I can only imagine how in love I’ll be when it doesn’t look like I’m dressed in a stitched-together cardboard number!”
With Steven Khalil’s talent and her unique vision, fans can expect a dress that captures Brittany’s style and story, but for now, with dress planning in full swing, Brittany is savouring each step. She asked her followers, “What kind of dress are you guys imagining for me!? That’s a fun game 😂”
This big reveal is just the latest chapter in Brittany’s whirlwind romance with Swiss goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.
After publicly announcing their relationship in January 2023, the couple has captivated fans with their love story, marked by long-distance trials, dreamy travel adventures, and the sweetest proposal.
The engagement itself was a touching moment; in June 2024, Brittany posted, “In any lifetime, it’s a YES! Just two people loving each other for the rest of our lives.” She surprised her Life Uncut co-hosts by sharing the news through a “listener letter,” describing how Benjamin proposed on a beautiful island.
“In 2022, I met this amazing guy, but he lived overseas,” she shared during the episode. “My friends were really concerned because long distance is never easy… Flash forward to now and I’ve never been happier, and last week on a beautiful island, he asked me to be his wife, and I want to know what’s a cute way to tell my friends I’m getting married?”
Her co-host, Laura Byrne, later revealed that she had helped Benjamin pick out the engagement ring.
In August 2024 the bride-to-be gave fans a hilarious update on wedding planning, sharing in a humorous video posted to Instagram that whilst she was yet to plan the actual details of the day – she was practising her walk down the aisle.
“No date, no venue, no dress, no food, no alcohol, no photographer, but prep is going well,” she added.
Earlier in the year, Brittany opened up about her decision to freeze embryos as the couple look ahead to family planning. The process has been an emotional rollercoaster, but her openness has resonated with fans and added another meaningful layer to their love story.
“The feelings surrounding fertility are so layered and complex…To be honest, I wasn’t expecting the feelings that I had when I was told my round was unsuccessful and I would be going home with no embryos,” Brittany shared to Instagram, adding that her embryo was deemed “not compatible with life.”
“As smart women, we know it’s not our fault, yet we can’t help but feel like failures when our body doesn’t keep up. That’s how I felt anyway. The pressure is monumental… The pressure to not let down a partner even though you’re doing everything you can and it’s often not in your control.”
