As the charismatic frontman of the Foo Fighters and the former drummer of Nirvana, Dave Grohl has become synonymous with some of rock music’s most recognisable and beloved works.

How did Dave Grohl meet Jordyn Blum?
In 2001, Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum first crossed paths at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood, California.
Speaking to Elle in 2007, Dave revealed that although the couple were instantly attracted to one another, their romance almost didn’t happen.
“When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a relationship, so I just stopped calling.”
Despite taking a step back from the potential relationship, Dave eventually decided to give his romance with Jordyn another shot, telling the publication, “After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again’.”
While the couple have kept their relationship private since tying the knot in August 2003, Jordyn has been a frequent collaborator with Dave on a number of the Foo Fighters’ projects; co-directing the band’s Walking the Line music video in 2002 and appearing in the 2011 music video for White Limo.

Throughout their over 20 years of marriage, Dave and Jordyn have welcomed three daughters together; Violet Maye, 17, Harper Willow, 14, and Ophelia Saint, 9.
In September 2024, Dave shared in a statement that he had welcomed another child outside of his marriage to Jordyn.
”I’ve recently become a father of a new baby daughter, born outside my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her,” he wrote on Instagram.
”I love my wife and my children, and I’m doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all children involved as we move forward together.”
While the Grohl family have yet to comment on Dave’s statement, it appeared that the couple’s eldest daughter Violet deactivated her social media shortly after her father’s post.
Speaking on fatherhood, Dave previously told TIME, “It’s changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate.”
While Harper and Ophelia have remained largely out of the spotlight, eldest daughter Violet has also tried her hand at the music business, performing alongside her father and the Foo Fighters at their 2023 Glastonbury Festival set.
The father-daughter duo also released their joint cover of X’s Nausea in 2021, with Dave telling Jimmy Kimmel, “It’s the first time she and I have recorded together, just the two of us. I’m so proud of it because I love her very much and she’s an amazing singer.”
