It was an Aussie soapie love story for the ages when actors Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor announced they were a couple, and one we’ve been hooked on ever since.

With Bob recently announced to be joining Love Me, a series produced by Screen Australia and BINGE, we’re looking back at some of the best moments from their love story – or at least, the rare few that they treat us to.

With two years of marriage, and two dogs, now under their belt, the pair are currently continuing to work as actors, splitting time between Australia and the US.

However, their roots in the soapie scene will never be forgotten!

Eliza started on Neighbours in 2008, but prior to that, she was a member of The Sleepover Club, which is a nostalgia factoid worth noting!

She joined Ramsay St as Janae Timmins, a brash character who was often getting into trouble, who Eliza noted was vastly different from herself.

She decided to leave the series in 2007, around the same time her on-screen mother and sister were axed from the show too.

Although Eliza remained under contract, she was ready to move overseas and pursue other projects.

She filmed her final scenes in 2007, and her final episodes aired in February 2008.

Bob, who first appeared on Home and Away as Drew Curtis from 2006 to 2008, also had his time on Neighbours, starring as Aidan Foster.

As Aidan, Bob and fellow actor James Mason, who played Chris Pappas, starred as the first same-sex couple on the show, and were the first to kiss on screen as well.

Bob took a break from shooting Neighbours to shoot the feature film, Blinder, but all up, was on the show for around two years.

He appeared in his final episodes in January, 2013.

Although they’d worked across the same acting scene for quite some time, it wasn’t until they were working on a project together that Bob and Eliza met.

They were cast in a show for the CW, a US network, called The 100.

The 100 told the story of a group of juvenile detainees, living on a space station almost a century after the apocalypse.

Sent to Earth to see if it’s still uninhabitable, the group of 100 teens find that there are still people alive, who are now locked in a power struggle.

Both Eliza and Bob starred as leaders of the group of teenagers, in the roles of Clarke Griffin and Bellamy Blake, respectively.

Across the seven seasons of the show, it’s strong fanbase were taken with the idea of Bellamy and Clarke being together, given how strong the chemistry was between Bob and Eliza.

With their private approach to their relationship, it’s not really known when Eliza and Bob took up together. However, they announced their relationship the same time they announced their marriage.

“Recently I married my best friend and soulmate @WildpipM,” Eliza wrote on Twitter in June of 2019, tagging Bob.

“We are very happy and ask that you keep your comments kind and respect our privacy at this time,” she added.

Bob also wrote about the marriage on Twitter: “It is with such a full heart that I call @MisElizaJane my wife.

“This is something we both cherish very deeply and are beyond happy. Please remember to be respectful and kind to one another. Be well be kind.”

Although they remained mostly tight-lipped, Eliza did say in an interview a month later that marriage was “the best decision I’ve ever made, I’m very happy.”

However, tough times were ahead, and the loved-up pair were working on the final season of The 100 when Eliza suffered a miscarriage.

At a convention called UnityDays2020, Eliza told the audience that she had gone through the ordeal, and that it was the reason she wouldn’t be directing an episode in the final season, as was promised beforehand.

Bob also explained that his tattoo, an image of a father penguin and his chick, had come about in tribute to the loss.

“I got this tattoo at a turning point in my life, things don’t always work out as planned, but the lessons learnt have made me a better human,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of the ink.

With The 100 behind them, the pair are continuing to work on acting and directing, and live with their two dogs in the US, but Bob has recently returned to begin work on Love Me.

He posted a tribute to Eliza earlier this year in honour of their second wedding anniversary.

“Words fall short of expressing just how much you mean to me. You make my heart sing, you nurture my soul, you make my bladder weak with laughter! You inspire me, make me think and challenge me to become the best version of myself,” he wrote.

“Every moment I have with you, I cherish. Happy two years @elizajaneface Marrying you is the best decision I ever made.”

Eliza celebrated the same milestone with her own post.

“Happy two years of marriage, my wonder!!! Your resilience, courage, kindness and compassion for whatever is thrown your way in life is mind blowing. You inspire me every day. You are my best friend and you bring me immeasurable joy…

“I love you @wildpip_morley Two down, forever to go. 💕✨.”
