Former Home and Away star Sarah Roberts has confirmed her divorce from husband and former co-star James Stewart.
Speaking to Stellar, the actress revealed that the pair had officially parted ways after five years of marriage, telling the publication, “Sometimes people grow apart and that’s okay… I got to a point where I realised I couldn’t grow in the way I wanted to within this particular relationship.”
Confirmation of the couple’s divorce follows over one year of fan speculation that James and Sarah had secretly split, with The Daily Telegraph first alluding to the pair’s potential breakup after highlighting James’ absence at the 2022 AACTAs red carpet.
While representatives for Sarah denied rumours that she and James had divorced, fans continued to speculate over the couple’s relationship status, with many drawing attention to the fact that they had not appeared on each other’s social media since February 2023.
Posting her Stellar story to social media, friends and fans flooded the comments with support for Sarah’s next chapter.
“Yes girl. I’m very proud of you!!! It’s so beautiful to see you sparkle again you deserve nothing but the best,” wrote The Bachelorette star Sam Frost.
“I love you so much my friend your strength is inspiring,” added Home and Away’s hair and makeup designer Laura Vazquez.
News of James and Sarah’s split comes over five years since the couple tied the knot in Ireland in July 2019.
“We could have easily gotten married under a tree by some water or on a property up in the hills – anywhere! But this has been magic,” James told WHO shortly after the big day.
“I wanted it to be a celebration of love and the important thing for us is for our families to come together and for us all to be together and everyone to just have an enjoyable time,” continued Sarah.
