Josh Hartnett has been married to actress Tamsin Egerton since November 2021.
Although the exact timeline of the couple’s relationship is unknown, it is believed that Josh and Tamsin first crossed paths on the set of The Lovers in 2011.
Having kept their relationship notoriously private, news of their romance was first brought to the public eye in 2013, with a source telling Us Weekly, “[Their romance] was just a natural thing that happened… They seem to just really enjoy each other’s company, and he thinks she’s gorgeous of course.”
In March 2022, a representative for Josh confirmed to E! News that the pair had tied the knot. A source speaking to The Sun revealed that the couple celebrated their nuptials in November 2021 at The Old Marylebone Town Hall in London surrounded by close family and friends.
“They’re as smitten as ever and wanted to make it a low-key affair… They’re really happy living a low-key life away from showbiz parties and red carpets, so [they] are happy to fly under the radar.”

In December 2015, a representative for Josh and Tamsin confirmed that the pair had welcomed their first child together, telling the publication, “It’s true and they are beyond thrilled.”
Reflecting on his experience as a new father, Josh told Live with Kelly and Michael, “Your ego melts away when you have a new kid. Your heart kind of leaves your body and you give it permission to walk around with someone else for a while… I love it more than anything.”
In 2017, Tamsin and Josh revealed they were expecting their second child at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, with Tamsin debuting her baby bump on the red carpet. The couple welcomed their third child in 2019 and, in 2024, Josh unexpectedly revealed during a SAG Awards red carpet interview that the family had welcomed their fourth child.
In July 2024, Josh made a rare comment on fatherhood, telling Entertainment Tonight that he and two daughters attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London.
“I’ve never experienced anything like it. 90,000 people at Wembley Stadium losing their minds, including my two daughters. People were so respectful, my daughters were given so many bracelets, and everything was really sweet,” he shared.
After his most recent starring role in the thriller epic Trap, Josh also shared that he would be open to taking on a role that his four children could enjoy.
“If someone were to offer me a movie that my kids could watch, I would take it in an instant… in an animated world or something that’s made for children, I would definitely want to do that for my kids. I would love for them to be able to come to the premiere,” he told E! News.
