It wouldn’t be surprising if there were a few Aussie celebs who’d done things on Logies night that they’d later regretted.
But The Morning Show co-host Larry Emdur wasn’t backing away from a bold declaration that that he’d get his backside tattooed if he won the night’s Gold Logie.
Ahead of the 64th TV WEEK Logie Awards, Emdur told news.com.au that he would get his ”a*** tattooed” with his fellow nominees’ initials live on air the next morning if he did win.
Pitted against Asher Keddie, Tony Armstrong, Julia Morris, Andy Lee, Sonia Kruger and Robert Irwin, Emdur was convinced he couldn’t win the big gold statue.

And he made good on his promise on The Morning Show the following day, to the disbelief of viewers – and co-host Kylie Gillies.
Emdur took up his position on a tattoo table as Bondi Ink tattooist Zach got to work as Gillies watched on in hysterics.
”He’s actually shaking,” Zach said as he prepped to ink Emdur up.
”So … it’s not a joke?” Gillies asked as the tattooist got to work.
”I think I’m more worried about … Where’s Zach’s thumb?” Emdur joked.
”Kylie, I can’t see what’s happening! Is this what it is like being in those rooms in Border Security?”
He also joked to Zach: ”Is it helping that I’m trying to flex?”
After half an hour on the tattoo bed, the finished product was revealed: A Gold Logie statue, with – as promised – the initials of all the nominees engraved on it.
And Emdur had absolutely no regrets.
”I love this tattoo,” he said. ”This for me will remind me forever of a beautiful night.”

After 40 years in the TV industry, Emdur had never won a Logie – until 2024.
In fact, he won two – the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter and the Gold Logie.
He had the audience in stitches with his zinger-packed acceptance speeches, reminding everyone of his tattoo pledge.
”I just remembered, I did say if I won this, I’d get all the nominees’ initials tattooed on my a*** live tomorrow morning,” he said to roaring laughter.
”Sorry Sylvie, I know we had some fancy hotel planned, but it looks like I’ll be doing squats all night!”
And how did Emdur’s wife Sylvie feel about his bum tattoo promise? Totally fine, as it turns out.
Emdur already has some ink on his posterior, so she was happy for him to get another one.
Earlier on Sunrise, Emdur did admit it was ”the dumbest promise he ever made” but he would absolutely be going through with it.
And when footage of Emdur getting inked was posted to The Morning Show’s Instagram account, fans were left in stitches.
”Congrats Larry! You deserve to be basking in all your glory!” one fan wrote.
”Emdur, you’re a bloody legend. A bet is a bet!” added another.
”Hahaha include middle names, date of birth, email and home address … all in large bold font please!” another suggested.
What did Larry Emdur say about his Logies win?
Emdur told Sunrise co-hosts Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington he was genuinely thrilled to stand up on the stage in front of his peers and accept the Gold Logie.
”I was standing up there just looking down at all these famous people. I was thinking it was really a moment.
”It was so surreal,” he said.
”I was so humbled, thrilled and honoured … You just go, wow, all of TV is in this room.
”Everything I worked for and everything I wanted to be part of.”
