Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, left behind a musical legacy that has transcended generations. While his music continues to captivate audiences worldwide, his personal life, marked by its ups and downs, left behind three children who have grown up under the relentless spotlight of fame.
Almost two decades after Jackson’s death, his children —Prince, Paris, and Bigi— remain in the limelight, despite their desire to live their lives largely out of the public eye. Whilst the famous offspring attempted to keep much of their childhood private, their transition to adulthood has been marked by several more public appearances – much to the excitement of fans.
In this article, WHO delves deeper into the lives of Michael Jackson’s children and explores where they are today, their accomplishments, and their efforts to carry forward their father’s legacy.
Who are Michael Jackson’s children?
Prince Jackson
Born February 13, 1997, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, known as Prince, is the eldest of Michael Jackson’s three children and his first child with his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe.
“Words can’t describe how I feel… I have been blessed beyond comprehension and I will work tirelessly to be the best father that I can possibly be,” Michael shared in a statement shortly after Prince’s birth.
Unlike his famous father, Prince has spent most of his life away from the entertainment industry, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2019 at Loyola Marymount University.
Prince also co-founded Heal Los Angeles in 2020 – a charity devoted to ending homelessness, child abuse, and hunger in Los Angeles.
Paris Jackson
Welcoming his only daughter on April 3, 1998, Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson is the second child of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe.
Following in the Jackson family’s musical footsteps, Paris pursued her career as a singer in 2020, releasing her debut album Wilted on November 13. Paris has also dipped her toe into the acting world, starring as Maya in the American Horror Story spin-off series, American Horror Stories.
Outside the entertainment industry, Paris announced in December 2024 that she was engaged to her boyfriend of two years, Justin Long.
Announcing the news to Instagram on Justin’s birthday, Paris wrote, “Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind and I couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with. Thank you for letting me be yours.”
Bigi Jackson
Known throughout the world as Blanket, Prince Michael Jackson II was born on February 21, 2002, via surrogate.
Following his infamous first public appearance, Bigi has spent the remainder of his life away from the public eye, with the youngest Jackson child being homeschooled for much of his childhood.
While very little is known about Bigi’s current life, the 22-year-old has begun to make more regular public appearances alongside his older siblings – giving a rare public interview with Good Morning Britain in 2021.
Discussing his father’s legacy, Bigi shared, “There’s a lot of history in this house and the studio here. That’s what he was all about. That’s what each of us [children] want to do – make things that people enjoy but also benefit their lives.”
The youngest Jackson was also outspoken about climate change, sharing, “I do think it’s important we all know about it. We have some work to do but our generation knows how important it is.”
