Miranda Kerr shared a heartbreaking tribute on her Instagram to commemorate her late grandfather who passed away recently.
The post included a sweet picture of her grandfather smelling a flower, a throwback image of them together when she was a child, and a picture of him with her grandmother.
She paired the post with a loving caption that details how much he meant to Miranda and her favourite memories with him.
“Today we laid my grandfather’s body to rest, but his spirit will continue to live through our family and all those he loved,” she wrote in the lengthy post.
“One of my favourite recent memories with my Pa was listening to Glenn Miller, enjoying the sunshine on our backs and smelling the gardenia from our garden that Hart had picked for us.
“It was truly a heavenly moment. One that’s hard to put into words. Quite like my feelings right now. He had defied the odds and lived longer than the doctors had expected. And even though we all knew that his time on this earth was coming to an end it didn’t make his passing any easier. He was our rock, a gentle yet strong man who had tremendous faith and a kind heart.
“I love you Pa. You can rest knowing Nan is surrounded by so much love and support.”
Miranda Kerr has always publicly expressed her love for her family.
Through working with her mum on Kora Organics, including then in her book Treasure Yourself, and her open support for Katy Perry who married her ex-husband Orlando Bloom, it is obvious that model is dedicated to her family.
Miranda and Orlando were married for three years before divorcing in 2013 and share 10-year-old son Flynn.
The two Hollywood exes who are excellent examples of successful co-parenting with Orlando previously telling Elle UK: “We co-parent really well.”
After her split from Orlando, former Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda went on to marry Snapchat CEO Even Spielgel in 2017, and they have welcomed two sons into the world Hart, two, and Myles, one.
But there’s no bad blood between her ex Orlando and her current beau Evan, with Miranda revealing to The Edit, “Orlando thinks (Evan’s) great. We’re just a modern family now!”
The loss of a family member is one of the hardest parts of life, but it can be said that Miranda and her family have a lot of love to get through this difficult time.
