Former professional rugby union player Nick Cummins, more commonly known by his nickname “the Honey Badger”, has detailed a gruesome accident with his fans. And now we’re not sleeping tonight.

Taking to Instagram, the former Bachelor star wrote: “Ever had a leech gorging on your brain?”
No, we very much haven’t.
“Was just an easy walk in the rainforest on a rainy day,” he continued. “I’m not sure if he dive bombed off a tree or climbed me. The repeated salting of the eye wasn’t fun.”
The harrowing caption was accompanied by a video with even more details, and a show-and-tell portion that our squeamish stomachs could have gone without.
“I’ve done my best, cracked some salt in my eyeball,” Nick said of his attempts to get it out. “Anyway, he’s vacated north and then now he’s heading west,” the SAS Australia alum added as casually as if he was discussing the weather.
“So he’s about there at the moment,” Nick said, pointing to where his right eyebrow meets the top of his nose. “It’s bloody high, you probably won’t be able to see, we’ll get the flashlight in.”
In gruesome scenes, he then showed the leech coming out the eye, along with some watery blood.
“That was quite an episode,” the Honey Badger said after the ordeal. “He finally got him out and he’s just having a breather down there at the moment,” he added, panning the camera down to his t-shirt where the leech was resting comfortably.
“He got right up in there. I could barely see him. I reckon he was gnawing my brain,” Nick concluded.

Fans were quick to share their astonishment for the accident in the comments.
“This better not creep into my dreams tonight 😂 Far out! What an ordeal…Glad it’s out of there 😳😱,” one user wrote.
“That is quite possibly the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life,” another added.
“What the actual F! Man you need a doctor! How with you get that thing out!” a third wrote.
Despite failing to find love on The Bachelor, Nick has since met “the one” Alex George, with the pair welcoming their first child in October this year.
Sharing a photo mid kiss of mum while she held her new-born, Nick wrote: “What an amazing life experience, so much love for my mob❤️.”
