From his first starring roles in some of the 1990s biggest blockbusters to the leading man in one of Marvel Studios’ most acclaimed superhero franchises, Paul Rudd has maintained his reputation as one of Hollywood’s most in-demand stars.
While his first major performance in the cult-classic teen film Clueless may have seen his celebrity status skyrocket, the film also connected Paul with his wife of over 20 years, Julie Yaeger.

Paul Rudd has been married to screenwriter and producer Julie Yaeger since 2003.
Following his sudden rise to fame after his performance in Clueless, Paul moved to New York in 1996 in search of a publicist. While visiting the office of his potential new publicist, Paul was unexpectedly introduced to Julie.
Reflecting on their first meeting, Paul told Marie Claire, “We started talking and there was a maturity with her. She had experienced some tragedy in her life, [and] I had too, and the impression I got was, ‘Wow, this is a woman. This isn’t a girl.”
“There was a perspective she had and still has on the world that you don’t come to easily – it’s earned and most people don’t have it at such a young age.”
With their romance continuing to blossom over the years, Paul and Julie celebrated their wedding in 2003 in a private ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
Throughout their relationship, the couple have kept the details of their love story largely out of the public eye. Despite maintaining their privacy, Paul revealed that his relationship dynamic with Julie served as inspiration for several scenes in Paul’s 2007 comedy Knocked Up.
“When Judd [Apatow] was writing that movie, my wife once said, ‘I’m so sick of looking at your back,’ because I was just on the computer all day checking my fantasy football scores,” Paul shared, with the anecdote soon transforming on to the big screen.

After three years of marriage, Paul and Julie welcomed their first child, son Jack Sullivan Rudd, in 2006, followed by their daughter Darcy in 2010.
Although Paul has rarely commented on life with his children, in 2018, the actor shared a glimpse into his relationship dynamic with his then-preteen children, telling Marie Claire, “My daughter is eight and thinks I’m the bee’s knees. My son is 13 and doesn’t even want me going to his school. I make jokes to a series of eye rolls.”
In February 2023, Paul revealed to Today that despite his superstardom, his children only recently discovered that their dad was world-famous.
“We were all going [to a movie theatre] and there was a movie poster that I was on that was in the lobby, so they all thought I just worked at the movie theatre… A few years later, I think when [Jack] was 15, he finally put it all together.”
“I think I’m dad more than I’m Ant-Man… They don’t care, nor should they.”
