Since his debut for Collingwood Football Club in 1979, Peter Daicos has become a legend of AFL, with his critically acclaimed career spanning 14 years and 250 games.
Inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame in 1999, Peter has continued to play a prominent role in the beloved Australian sport, taking up the mantle of both coach and commentator in the years following his retirement.
Now, almost 30 years since his last Collingwood season, the 61-year-old is looking to add another win to his list of achievements, partaking in the 2024 season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here Australia.

Peter Daicos is married to Colleen Daicos.
While there is very limited information about the exact timeline of the couple’s relationship, it is believed that the pair have been together since the early 1990s.
How many sons does Peter Daicos have?
Peter Daicos and wife Colleen share two sons, Josh, 25, and Nick, 21.
Following in their father’s sporting footsteps, both Josh and Nick now play for Collingwood Football Club, with Josh being selected in the 2016 AFL draft and Nick in the 2021 draft.
As legends within the Melbourne-based football club, Josh and Nick have continued to contribute to the Daicos family legacy in the sport, with the pair most recently taking home the 2023 AFL Premiership.
Speaking on the family’s shared love of sport, Peter told The Age, “They were always up for a kick. Even during the pre-season this year, they’d come home from Collingwood after a whole day, have a quick bite to eat, and then go off to the park.
“If the ball goes over my head, I’ve got to walk to get it, but I still get down there and try to have a kick with the boys. It doesn’t leave you. It was such a huge part of my life.”

Peter Daicos has one daughter, Madison.
As the eldest of Peter’s three children, the 32-year-old was present for the latter years of her father’s esteemed career with Collingwood, making several game-day appearances alongside her mother Colleen.
During his appearance on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, Peter reflected on one of his most cherished memories with his daughter, telling his fellow celebrities the heartwarming story of his final AFL game.
“I got the opportunity to run a lap with my daughter at the MCG. I asked if I could do it and the AFL said no. I said to my wife, ‘Bugger it, just hand her over to me,’ and as I got halfway around, she handed Maddie over.”
