Scotty James dazzled viewers when he shredded the slopes at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, with his biggest supporter, fiancée Chloe Stroll, cheering him on. Now, the pair have tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in Venice, Italy.

Who is Scotty James?
The 28-year-old Aussie snowboarder competed in the Men’s Halfpipe and Men’s Slopestyle at the Olympics in 2022, where he won a silver medal in the Halfpipe.
Prior to that, he won Gold at the X-Games in Aspen. Not to mention, he’s competed in World Championships, World Cups and three previous Olympics. Pretty impressive for someone who got their start with a $10 snowboard from their dad!
But in his personal life, Scotty has been celebrating his own major milestones – popping the question to Chloe after two years of dating, before tying the knot in a lavish Italian ceremony.
Who is Chloe Stroll?
Chloe is an aspiring musician and Formula One heiress. As you might expect, being an F1 heiress, Chloe is the sister of Aston Martin F1 driver Lance Stroll and daughter of Lawrence Stroll, the executive chairman of Aston Martin’s F1 team.
He’s believed to be worth USD $2.9 billion (about AUD $4.1 billion).
How did Scotty James meet Chloe Stroll?
The duo were set up by Chloe’s brother Lance, with the heiress revealing all the details in an interview with the Herald Sun. They began dating in April, 2019.
“Lance actually called me and said, ‘I think I just found the guy you’re going to marry,'” Chloe told the Herald Sun. “It was kind of strange. I had a conference in Park City [Utah], which was where his next competition was the same weekend and a lot of random things happened.
“Scotty was very cute. We dated for about four months, or as he likes to say, we got to know each other, before he officially asked me to be his girlfriend,” she said.
James added, “I just connected with her in New York and went out to dinner with her at a place called Motel Morris in Chelsea and the rest is history.”
Are Scotty James and Chloe Stroll married?
Yes! After becoming engaged in November 2021, the pair got hitched in May 2023.
The bride wore an elegant Dior gown, with her hair swept into a sleek bun, while Scotty wore a classic black tuxedo.
Famous friends and family poured into Venice ahead of the nuptials. The notable guest list included Australian F1 driver and groomsman, Daniel Ricciardo, Chloe’s brother, F1 driver Lance Stroll, Scotty’s brother-in-law, Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac, and Fergie, Duchess of York.
The bride and groom shared a number of intimate snaps of their big day on social media. While Chloe shared a carousel of images with a simple caption – an eternity emoji – Scotty shared his snaps alongside a love heart emoji.
Their lavish wedding follows a more lowkey proposal, with Scotty popping the question during a romantic holiday in Switzerland, where he was training for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Posting a video on Instagram in November 2021, Scotty and Chloe were seen outside in the snow as they celebrated their engagement.
“Hey! We’re getting married!” Scotty said to the camera, adding, “Everyone, this is my fiancée!”
“This is my fiancé!” Chloe excitedly called out as she showed off her sparkling engagement ring. She also shared a photo of Scotty down on one knee in the snow as he proposed.
In the interview, Scotty also opened up about speaking to Chloe’s father Lawrence before proposing. When asked about facing pressure in his sport, he revealed there was none greater than asking her to marry him.
“I really did set myself up well. You ask me about pressure, there’s no more pressure than asking Chloe’s dad in particular for her hand in marriage, so that was a lot of pressure,” he said.
“And the other pressure was on the day asking the woman of my dreams to marry me. I’ve set myself up well in the world of pressure at the moment, which is fantastic.”
