Simone Holtznagel and Jono Castano have announced they have split.
Confirming the news to the Daily Mail, Castano revealed that the pair went their separate ways in late May 2024.
“We just decided it was best for [Simone] to spend time with her family in Wollongong. Who knows what the future holds,” he shared, adding, “Our idea is just to be the best parents for Gia at this stage.”
While Holtznagel has yet to formally comment on their relationship, fans of the Australia’s Next Top Model star speculated that the pair may have parted ways after she shared a quote to Instagram that referred to self-love and moving on.
“You shouldn’t feel guilty for moving forward if you’ve given someone multiple opportunities to improve or change, but they didn’t. Everyone has limits and it’s important to prioritise your own wellbeing… Prioritising your own happiness and peace is essential, especially when you’ve been patient and understanding for a long time,” read the quote tile.
Despite their romantic relationship coming to a close, the former couple appear to be committed to a loving co-parenting relationship, with the pair sharing photos alongside their daughter while on a recent getaway to Tasmania.
News of the couple’s split comes four months after Holtznagel and Castano welcomed their first child, daughter Gia, after two years together.
Sharing the exciting news on Instagram, Holtznagel wrote, We are totally and completely in love with her and enjoying these special moments as a family of three.”
Speaking to WHO ahead of their daughter’s arrival, the 31-year-old shared, “Just before we got pregnant, there so so many nights that we’d be laying in bed saying, ‘Well when we have kids this’ and ‘When we have kids that,’ and now it’s happening!”
“The first couple of weeks [of pregnancy] were a little bit tricky, but not as bad as some other people have it. We’re just really grateful.”
