It’s been a big couple of years for Sydney Sweeney. The 26-year-old has been everywhere; playing the memorable Olivia Mossbacher in season one of The White Lotus, gracing our screens as Maddie in Euphoria, sitting front row at fashion week shows and even appearing in the latest Rolling Stones music video.
Now, as the American actress wins over even more fans in the romantic comedy Anyone But You alongside Glen Powell, fans can’t help but ask: Does Sydney Sweeney have a boyfriend?

Short answer: Yes! Sydney is currently engaged to her long-term boyfriend and partner, Jonathan Davino, however, the actress has remained pretty tight-lipped on any details about her beau.
“I don’t date people in the spotlight,” she told Cosmopolitan in February 2022. “I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest… I have a great support system.”
“I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, ‘Oh no, I’m shining too bright and I need to step back.’”
Who is Jonathan Davino?
Not too much is known about Jonathan, but we do know Sydney was first linked to her beau in 2018 when they were photographed together at an Emmys after-party in Los Angeles.
A number of publications have reported that Jonathan’s family previously owned two restaurants and are now the owners of numerous vaporizer packaging companies however Sydney dispelled the rumours in an interview with Glamour UK in Decemeber 2023.
“He’s not a restaurateur,” she told the publication. “I have no idea where that came from. He’s also not the heir of a pizza company. He’s a business guy. He’s from Chicago.”
His real job is producer and the couple produced Anyone but You together. “Jonathan is my producing partner, so he helped put the whole thing together,” she explained. “It’s really great to work with someone who knows you so well, who fully supports your ideas, your vision, and your voice.”
Is Sydney Sweeney engaged?
Publications first began reporting that the actress was engaged in March 2022. Although Sydney herself has not spoken on the news, she has been regularly spotted wearing a diamond engagement ring in the months since.
In July 2022 ET Tonight spoke to a source close to the couple who revealed they were in the process of planning their wedding.
“Sydney and Jonathan are excited to get married and are hoping to have their wedding in the spring of next year,” the source added.
“I’ve been in a steady relationship for a really long time, which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age,” she told Glamour UK in her cover interview and although she wouldn’t confirm her engagement to the publication, she did reveal that she sees herself having kids in the future.
“I think about having four kids. I dream of teaching them how to ski when they’re little and having them follow me around on adventures, taking them on hikes, teaching them how to build tree houses, just living through their imagination. That’s something I really, really look forward to.”
“I’d be crazy if I had a kid or got married before I’m 30,” she added. “I’ve gotten to that point where I think that whenever it’s going to happen, it’s supposed to happen. It’s like that one thing in life that maybe you can’t plan – the perfect timing. I love to schedule my life, I love to know everything that is going on, I like to have a plan. I like to have my whole year scheduled out.”

When news first broke about Sydney and Jonathan’s engagement, many fans were surprised by the notable age gap. At the time of their engagement, Sydney was 24 and Jonathan was 38 – which means they have a 13-year age gap.

In early 2023 when Sydney was in Australia filming her upcoming movie Anyone But You alongside co-star Glen Powell, many fans began speculating that there was something ‘more’ to the pair’s friendship.
Shortly after these rumours began, Glen and his girlfriend Gigi Paris split after three years of dating, which added fuel to the fire. However, the rumours appear to be just that – rumours.
“It’s a rom-com,” Sydney told Variety in an August 2023 interview about how the co-stars purposely leaned into dating rumours to promote their film. “That’s what people want!”
“Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker. We’re excited for the press tour, and I literally just left ADR with him. We talk all the time like, ‘That’s really funny.’”
In February 2024 Sydney addressed the rumours once more as she hosted Saturday Night Live.
“While I’m up here, I do want to talk about some stuff I’ve seen about me online,” Sydney said during her monologue. “The craziest rumour is that I was having an affair with my costar Glen Powell. That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiancé produced the movie together, and he was there the entire shoot. And I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams, and we’re still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me. Can we cut to him?”
The camera then panned to the audience, which showed Glen sitting and smiling.
“That’s not my fiancé,” Sydney continued. “He’s in my dressing room!”
