“I’m not even gonna bother with the clues, bushranger is obviously Jessica Mauboy just off the voice  #TheMaskedSingerAu,” another said.

Others viewers insist they are adamant the voice is Jessica’s, even though they can tell she is holding back from exposing her full vocal range.

“If @jessicamauboy isn’t bushranger i’ll be hella annoyed! Lots of her tone in there and she’s defs holding back coz she is the queen of belting it!!!!” one viewer said, while another added, “I didn’t get a thing from the clues, but that sounds a damn LOT like Jessica Mauboy.”

Jessica attempted to deny the rumours during an interview on The Project on Monday night, as she appeared on the program to discuss her involvement with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation ahead of Indigenous Literacy Day on Wednesday.

As host Waleed Aly was wrapping up their chat, he snuck in one last question, directly addressing those Masked Singer rumours.

“I’m afraid we’ve got to leave it there, because Masked Singer is about to begin. Are you on it?” Waleed asked Jessica directly.

The star laughed and replied, “Oh, no! Definitely not!”

Last October, she became engaged to her boyfriend of three years, Themeli Magripilis, while the pair were on holidays in Greece.

“The love of my life proposed to me in his family’s home town of Kalymnos, Greece on the beach at sunset,” Jess wrote on social media at the time.

“We are so happy… I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. Thank you for all the love.”
