As the discussion surrounding Hollywood’s ‘Nepo Babies’ continues to grow it, seems more and more actors and musicians are adding their two cents.
Refusing to admit the inherent privilege that comes with being the offspring of famous parents, more and more celebs are speaking out on claims of nepotism and now, Tom Hanks is joining in.
The actor, whose four children themselves are in the acting business, recently spoke with Reuters via The Sun, hitting back at claims his children were beneficiaries of nepotism.
Instead, he claims they were simply entering the “family business” – comparing his family to others who run small businesses.

“Look, this is a family business. This is what we’ve been doing forever,” he explained when speaking on his son’s appearance A Man Called Otto.
“It’s what all of our kids grew up in. We have four kids, they are all very creative, they are all involved in some brand of storytelling, and if we were a plumbing supply business or if we ran the florist shop down the street, the whole family would be putting in time at some point, even if it was just inventory at the end of the year.”
“Doesn’t matter what our last names are,” he continued. “We have to do the work in order to make that a true and authentic experience for the audience and that’s a much bigger task than worrying about whether anyone’s going to try and scathe us or not.”
