ABC TV News Breakfast presenter Tony Armstrong has fast become one of Australia’s most beloved television personalities, with his charisma and signature smile attracting a loyal fan following.
While some fans may tune in every morning to watch the former AFL star, many have become invested in Armstrong’s life away from the newsroom – especially his romantic life.
When rumours first circulated that Armstrong could potentially be the star of The Bachelor 2023, fans rushed to apply for their shot at winning his heart however, the speculation sadly did not eventuate.
While some may have held out hope that Armstrong would potentially be announced at the latest hopeful on the Australian dating series, it appears that the TV Week Gold Logie nominee has already found love with his girlfriend Rona Glynn-McDonald.
Is Tony Armstrong single?
We hate to break it to you, but Tony Armstrong is officially off the market.
Despite historically keeping his personal life out of the public eye, Armstrong shocked fans when he hard-launched his romance with his girlfriend Rona Glynn-McDonald on Instagram on November 29, 2023.
Sharing a collection of affectionate snaps, Armstrong captioned the post “👀👀. Been a nice time,” with famous friends and fans taking to the comments to share their surprise.
While the exact timeline of their relationship is unknown, fans believe that the pair have been together since at least November 2022 based on photos Armstrong and Glynn-McDonald shared together outside a trailer at Rufus Du Sol’s Australian tour.
Although the couple have not shared any greater details about their relationship, Armstrong and Glynn-McDonald’s romance appears to be continuing to blossom, with the pair now becoming a regular feature on one another’s social media.
In December 2023, the pair made their red carpet debut, attending the NGV Gala 2023 at the National Gallery of Victoria and in July 2024, the pair posed for the cover of Stellar magazine together.
Returning to the red carpet for a second time, the couple attended the 64th TV WEEK Logie Awards in August 2024, with Armstrong attending the ceremony as one of the year’s Gold Logie nominees.
Looking back on a monumental year, Armstrong told WHO, “I mean, it’s been good for me! Rona would probably say I’ve just been tired at home.”
While both the couple’s careers may be continuing to make leaps and bounds, Glynn-McDonald shared her support for her partner, adding, “[He’s] exhausted. Absolutely exhausted, but he’s making strides. I’m so proud of him.”
