Ever since pop star Taylor Swift, 34, and American football player Travis Kelce, 34, got together in September 2023, they have been met with an array of rumours about their romance. While engagement speculation made headlines earlier this year, the latest story – or scam, rather – had the opposite tone.
Kelce and his team were forced to call in lawyers after a photograph of fabricated documents that purported to be from public relations agency Full Scope, which has the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on its books, ended up on the internet, according to the Daily Mail.
The documents appeared to be a suggested PR strategy to deal with the couple’s imminent break-up, said to be happening on September 28.
It even included a statement that could be sent out when the break-up was announced.
“Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time,” it read.
The documents were quickly declared fake, with Full Scope releasing a statement that they were “entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorised by this agency”.
“We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,” they told Daily Mail.
Online commenters suggested the documents read like a school assignment or something that had been generated using AI.
Meanwhile, the high profile couple seem stronger than ever.
In late August, they spent time with friends, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper among other notable names at Swift’s Newport mansion.
This was a much needed break for the Cruel Summer singer who just finished the European leg of The Eras Tour and has some down time until it resumes in Miami in October.
