“I’m absolutely buzzing with the opportunity I’ve been given to join the team and work with Sarah,” Tristan said in a statement when the news was first announced.

“It’s a great show and I have some big shoes to fill, but a challenge I am fully committed to and excited about. I can’t wait to get started.”

Tristan is a professional dancer who has spent his entire life, since childhood, performing in his native Ireland and later travelling the world as part of various theatre and dance tour groups.

He’s appeared in productions of Oliver, Aladdin and even had an uncredited dance role in the 2004 film Ella Enchanted, starring Anne Hathaway.

He later went on to star in touring dance groups Burn The Floor and Floorplay.

More recently, he has featured on reality TV dance competitions Dancing With The Stars, both in the US and here in Australia, as well as the UK dance show Strictly Come Dancing.

Last year, he was promoted from professional dancer to judge on Dancing With The Stars Australia, starring alongside Craig Revel Horwood and Sharna Burgess on the program.

Who Is Tristan MacManus’ wife?

Tristan has a surprising Aussie romantic connection. He’s married to Tahyna Tozzi, 34, an Australian actor, director and producer, who is the sister of model Cheyenne Tozzi.

Tahyna first graced our screens on the ABC’s hit teen soap Blue Water High and has since gone on to star in several Hollywood films, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Tahyna and Tristan were introduced by mutual friends in 2011 at a Thai restaurant in LA – and it turns out the friends were secretly setting them up!

They dated for five years, splitting their time between Ireland and LA, before getting married in 2014 in Sydney’s Cronulla.

The couple’s wedding was famously shrouded in secrecy, to avoid attention from the paparazzi and also to honour a lucrative magazine deal worth a reported $10,000 for the exclusive wedding story and photographs.

The Tozzi family are famous around Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, and now Tahyna and Tristan live in the $1.5 million three bedroom house Caringbah South they purchased together in 2017.

The loved-up duo say they are happy living their quiet, domestic life in the suburbs.

“Before we had the kids, I thought we lived a very exciting Hollywood life,” Tahyna told Woman’s Day in February.

”But now we want to stay put. We have everything we need in the Shire,” Tristan added.

“There’s the beach, there’s a playground on almost every block – we’re just a simple suburban family.”

The couple now have two children together, a daughter called Echo, four, and a little baby boy named Oisín, one.

But despite their happy family snaps, Tristan and Tanya have been refreshingly open about the fertility heartache they have experienced.

In October 2018, Tahnya revealed that she has suffered three miscarriages.

Now she’s created a documentary called Misunderstandings Of Miscarriage (M.u.M), which aims to shatter the stigma surrounding pregnancy loss.

“We had trouble when we first started talking about having a family, we actually lost our first baby – it was a horrible experience to go through,” Tahyna told Woman’s Day.

“But we pushed it to the back of our minds when we fell pregnant with Echo. But the next time we tried, we lost that baby as well.”

The couple are on the fence about whether they will have anymore children.

“I could go another, five is the magic number I think,” Tristan said.

But Tahyna added: ”Tristan would have a whole football team if he could – but he’s not the one carrying them!”
