In a new trailer for the upcoming season, Farmer Alex from Cunnamulla, Queensland sends hearts racing and has not one but two women vying for his attention.

In the trailer, we see a group of city girls arrive in the country with “no reception, no social media, no Tinder, just a farmer.”

But when 28-year-old Farmer Alex walks in, he certainly makes an impression.

“When Alex walked in, his blue eyes just lit up the world,” one contestant says.

Whilst one blonde city girl enjoys dinner in a candlelit barn followed by a romantic kiss in the rain, her brunette competitor is taken for an al fresco bath signalling a love triangle is on the cards this season.

Tensions are also hinted at with one of the girls informing Alex, “If you want to be with me, you fight for me.”

Who will he choose?

Sheep and cattle farmer Alex is one of the six men looking for their dream partner, and he’s looking for someone willing to get involved with life on the farm.

“I am an adventurous soul and need someone who is willing to go on adventures with me, but also the resilience to live in the isolation of the outback,” he says.

Though he’s never been in love before, Alex admits it definitely scares him a bit, explaining that he’d “hate to go through a whole life without falling in love and not finding that special person.”

Aside from dating someone who will help out on the farm, Alex says his dream girl is someone confident and full of surprises who can keep him guessing all the time.

He’s also keen to start his own family and says becoming a dad is more important to him than any job or amount of money.

“I’m pretty open with my feelings and emotions, not so much that I need to carry around a box of tissues or anything like that,” he adds.

Farmer Wants A Wife is scheduled to air on Channel Seven in July and was pushed back from April due to the coronavirus.

In another trailer released, the show took aim at some of the other reality dating shows that don’t have as successful a track record as Farmer Wants A Wife.

“Nine marriages, 20 Aussie kids [and] the most beautiful love stories have been born from the only show that proves the power of love,” host Natalie Gruzlweski boasts in the trailer.
