Despite being Studio 10’s pink carpet correspondent— not to mention one of the biggest reality stars Australia has produced— Georgia Love was left red-faced this morning when she was denied entry to Melbourne Cup.

After spending hours in hair and makeup, the popular newsreader rushed to Flemington Racecourse to interview celebrity arrivals in The Birdcage, only to be turned down at the gate. As the embarrassment set in, her morning took a turn for the worse when she was then forced to run five kilometres to reach her marquee in time.
Speaking with her 10 co-host, Kerri-Anne Kennerly about her disastrous morning, the beloved journalist said: “I came in a taxi this morning, and wasn’t allowed through the gates… so I ran about five kilometres! This is why I am up and about early in the morning.
“I am just going to check my makeup in your glasses,” she added, staring into KAK’s dark shades. “You are going to have to stay here all day as my personal mirror!”
Despite the unfortunate start to her day, Georgia still looked the part, donning an ’80s inspired fuchsia dress which included a high slit up the side. Also on display was her YSL clutch and, of course, her stunning diamond ring!
The newsreader announced in September her boyfriend Lee Elliott— who she met on The Bachelorette in 2016— had popped the question! Days after sharing the news on Instagram, Georgia was forced to hit back at body shamers who questioned if she had a baby bump while wearing a skin-tight dress at a wedding in Melbourne.
Georgia wrote: “To everyone commenting on Lee’s post last night: No, I’m not pregnant. No I haven’t just eaten pasta or had a big lunch. This is just how I look. And I’m really, really sick of being made to feel like it’s not good enough.”
She continued: “This is a happy photo of two happy people celebrating their friends’ wedding. In what world should my body come into it?
“Feel free to comment below about how beautiful the wedding was, how nice it is to see us back together after I’ve been away, that you like our outfits or, if you REALLY feel the need to comment on how I look, you can point out how good my bum looks when I wasn’t even wearing underwear.”
She added the hashtags: “#nofilter #bodypositivity #notpregnant #justhappy.”
