Despite the fact that Kanye West has spent the majority of 2022 in news headlines thanks to his Twitter rants, Instagram rambles and attention-grabbing antics, mystery surrounds his private school.

Donda Academy, a Christian private school located in Simi Valley, California is currently in its third year, with 82 enrolled students – and apart from a few images and videos posted by the rapper himself, not much is known about the K-12 school which reportedly costs $15,000 per year.

On the official website of the school, Donda Academy has revealed what a typical day looks like for students. “Each day, Donda students learn fundamentals, grow in their faith, and experience two enrichment classes,” the site explains.

A daily schedule includes full school worship, core classes of language, math and science and an afternoon of enrichment courses including “world language, visual art, film, choir and parkour.”

In an interview with ABC News, Kanye explained that the “gospel school” focused on helping give “kids practical tools that they need in a world post the iPhone being created.”

“So many schools are made to set kids up for industries that don’t even matter anymore.”

Elsewhere on the website, the school also encourages people to “join the mission to provide the youth with the passion, purpose and spiritual foundations they need to thrive in tomorrow’s world.”

Sprinkled throughout the site are “Donda Rules,” including “Donda Rule #58: Writing should be regarded as an activity that necessitates critical thinking, an aspect that is fundamental to all good writing,” and “Donda Rule #51: Students must be confident in forming ideas. If not, their writing will suffer.”

The school boasts a team of staff dedicated to engaging and educating “the whole student – mind, body, and spirit,” and is also dedicated to its sports teams and choir.

“We are building the next generation of athletes with an innovative approach to faith and teamwork,” the website explains.

Donda Academy is home to the Donda Doves, an elite prep basketball team that has quickly built an elite reputation. They’re coached by 11-year NBA veteran Dorell Wright.

The choir is another key part of Donda Academy, with the group recently invited to perform at his YZY 9 fashion show in Paris this month – the same show that garnered intense criticism for the use of “white lives matter” shirts.

The school has continued to raise eyebrows – especially since the three administrators who are named on the site don’t seem to have appropriate qualifications.

According to Rolling Stone, Brianne Campbell, the principal and executive director of the school has no experience in education, with her LinkedIn profile showing her most recent employment as the choir director of Kanye’s Sunday Service.

Kanye’s own kids aren’t currently attending the school. North was seen singing with the choir, Kanye took to Instagram in now-deleted posts earlier this year to express his desire for his kids to attend the school part-time.
