If we’ve learnt anything in the last few months, it’s that the Coronavirus pandemic has been a massive burden on our seemingly strong relationships.

So let’s give Liam Hemsworth a break, stay out of his DMs, and allow him some time to heal because it certainly looks like his romance with Gabriella Brooks wasn’t able to stand the test of time.

A couple of clever and overly keen Instagram sleuths recently noticed that the bonafide Hollywood heartthrob unfollowed the 23-year-old model on Instagram— a tell-tale sign in this day and age that things went south. To make matters more convincing, she no longer follows him either.

News of their unexpected split comes just weeks after a friend of the Isn’t It Romantic actor’s told Us Weekly he’s head over heels for Gabriella.

“He feels more at home with Gabriella than he did with Miley,” the pal told US Weekly. “He feels like he can be his complete self without any drama. Gabriella helped Liam boost his confidence and played an encouraging role in his life after his split with Miley. They are very happy together and it’s comfortable and easy.”

As if the stars had finally aligned, after weeks of hostility, Liam’s estranged ex-wife of eight months, Miley Cyrus, also gave Gabriella the tick of approval.

“She just wants him to be happy,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight, adding Gabriella is “the opposite of Miley”. “She knows how important love and marriage are for Liam, but she just needed her independence. Miley and Liam have moved on and it seems they’re both where they most want to be in life.”

Miley is not asking their mutual friends about Liam’s new relationship. She doesn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. She is not checking in on Liam as they do have a very few mutual friends,” another source close to the Black Mirror actress told Hollywood life.

As for why Miley and Liam spit just eight months after tying the knot in an intimate ceremony at Miley’s Tennessee home, an insider said their differing views on wanting to start a family led to their demise.

“Liam loved Miley so much but in the back of his mind, he always knew a life with her would prove difficult because she never seemed ready to settle down,” said the insider adding Miley and Cody have agreed to take their relationship day by day.

“She feels free now. She is happy and dating Cody at the moment with no pressure to marry. She keeps saying this has been the best thing for her.”

The Hunger Games actor recently opened up about his acrimonious split from Miley, telling  Men’s Health he’s been working hard to regain balance in his life.

“This last six months, honestly, for keeping my head level and just staying balanced, I’d say exercise has been big for me,” he said.

Then, when asked if he’s in a “rebuilding” phase of his life, he said, “yeah, that’s a good way to put it.”

In the midst of this difficult time, Liam was also forced to undergo surgery for a nasty kidney stone.

“I was vegan for almost four years, and then February of last year I was feeling lethargic. Then I got a kidney stone. It was one of the most painful weeks of my life,” the 30-year-old told the magazine for their May cover. “I was doing press for Isn’t It Romantic. But I had to go to the hospital and get surgery.”

While he’s been given a clean bill of health by the surgeon, Liam had to reassess his strict diet and alter his vegetable intake.

“Once you get one kidney stone, you have a 50 per cent chance of getting another one if you continue eating the way you were eating,” he explained.

“Well, my particular kidney stone was a calciumoxalate kidney stone. It forms from having too much oxalate in your diet. Oxalates are really high in a lot of vegetables, specifically spinach, almonds, beetroot, potatoes. Every morning, I was having five handfuls of spinach and then almond milk, almond butter, and also some vegan protein in a smoothie. And that was what I considered super healthy. So I had to completely rethink what I was putting in my body.”
