The 38-year-old— best known for his roles in Heartbreak High, McLeod’s Daughters, Home And Away and hosting The X Factor— said having an intense amount of energy makes long filming days easier.

“I think a lot of people are shy about saying it,” he told Stellar. “If you have it, you have it. I don’t mind if I look a little goofy. I’m just having more fun with it.”

This isn’t the first time the former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! contestant has spoken about his mental health. Earlier this year, Luke opened up about moving to the United States in 2015, revealing he was struggling to come to terms with the passing of his beloved father, John, who had died earlier that year.

“I wanted to run away from dealing with it,” Luke, told TV WEEK ahead of his stint on I’m A Celeb. “I thought if I went over there, I’d be distracted.”

Moving in the hope of a big break in Hollywood, the TV star said he was bitterly disappointed when things didn’t work out as he’d hoped.

“Work-wise, it wasn’t panning out as well as I’d imagined,” Luke said. “Mentally, it really hurt. I was low and felt like a disappointment. I thought I’d lost my career – and that it was all my fault.”
