The ongoing issues between Married At First Sight’s Michelle and Jesse erupted during her vows as she delivered one of the cruelest moments in the shows history.
After spending four minutes praising their relationship, Michelle dealt Jesse the devastating blow that she just wanted to continue what they have “as the friendship that it is.”
“I’m so thankful our paths have crossed, because I do want you in my life forever, but not as your partner,” she said. “I want to be the friend that you confide in, support and have fun with. To continue the friendship we have formed here in the experiment.”
As she cried and was comforted by the man she was rejecting, she explained that she wanted their friendship to grow.
“This is not a sad story, this is still the fairy tale you spoke of. Of two strangers seeking love – only in this case, it’s a friendship of love,” she continued. “I hope you understand, I’ve gotta trust my gut and my heart and continue this as the friendship that it is.”
“This is a happy story and I hope you can see that it is. It’s not losing something but gaining a forever friendship.”
