Aleks Markovic dropped a bombshell on Tuesday night’s episode of Married At First Sight.
This morning I woke up feeling anxious,’ she said, the morning after Ivan Sarakula took her to a ‘car meet’ and then an ‘open house.’
‘I just couldn’t sleep. I’ve got these things running through my head. I was hoping this week would bring us closer together, but it’s taken a step back, and now I’m not 100 percent. I feel like I have to open up to him and just say where my head is at.’

Meanwhile, Ivan was very pleased with his hosting skills.
‘Home stay is going well. We’re having fun. I hope that means Aleks is considering a future n Sydney and living with me.’
To Aleks, he asked the hard questions, thinking he’d get a positive answer.
‘How have you enjoyed seeing a bit of my background and lifestyle?’
She replied, ‘I, umm, umm, I’m missing my family and friends back home and can’t see myself living here without my friends and family around me.’
Is it just Sydney? I mean, like… Is it you’re missing your family and friends? Is it the fact… Do you think if we had established a stronger romance it’d be a different story?
‘I love your qualities and I adore everything about you,’ Aleks began, ‘But after the last commitment ceremony it was just that realisation – do I adore this man as a man that’s gonna be part of my life forever but not romantically? Or do I adore this man because I see myself falling in love with him because he’s my soul mate. I think there are aspects of our relationship that we do lack.’
Ivan told producers, ‘I wasn’t expecting that. But I’m still wearing a ring and we’re still married.
‘I think despite all this we are still awesome… we’ve had a really good time.’
The next day, Ivan had time to really think about what Aleks had said – and he was surprisingly understanding.
‘Something has happened here and the spark’s just fizzled out. Distance should not have an impact on a soul mate relationship, but the fact that there has been a lack of effort to overcome these issues just shows me that it’s not right. I’d be open to the idea of a comeback in our relationship. She means a lot to me. There has to be some optimism from Aleks for the future.’
Meanwhile, Aleks told producers, ‘I didn’t come here to play happy families as friends. I came in here to find love. I came in here to find the father of my children.
‘I can’t keep putting on a facade with and pretending like it’s more than a friendship. Of course, I am feeling disheartened, but at the same time, and the more I think about it, I realise I don’t see Ivan as a future partner. I don’t see him as a soul mate. I don’t see us with each other. I don’t believe that he is that person for me anymore.’
